SAN ANTONIO – Grissom Road on the city's Northwest Side has been reduced to one lane of traffic in the area of Timberhill Road due to a water main break.
A post on the Twitter page for the San Antonio Water System stated that a "fiber contractor" accidentally hit the water main some time Thursday.
As of Friday morning, crews with SAWS were still at the scene making repairs.
The broken water line caused a sizable sinkhole to open up, undermining at least the right lane of the eastbound roadway, according to workers at the scene. For that reason, they are steering traffic away from the area.
Another tweet on TxDOT's Twitter page stated that the lane closure would be in effect until Saturday.
