Toddler hit, killed by vehicle in NW Bexar County identified

22-month-old Tamim Alshahrani died after being struck by front bumper

SAN ANTONIO – The Bexar County Medical Examiner's Office has identified the name of the child killed in a traffic accident early Saturday night.

22-month-old Tamim Alshahrani died after being struck by the front bumper of a vehicle after he darted across the Northwest Side road, Bexar County Sheriff's Office officials said.

The accident was reported around 6:45 p.m. in the 10000 block of Caspian Bend, not far from Wildhorse Parkway and Braun Road.

The toddler's parents transported him to Christa Santa Rosa Westover Hills Hospital, but he didn't survive the accident, deputies said.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing. At this time, no charges have been filed.
