Police search for driver responsible for hit-and-run accident

Accident occurred around 12:30 a.m. on NW Loop 410 near Bandera Rd

SAN ANTONIO – A search is underway for a driver who rear-ended a vehicle and drove off early Thursday morning on the city's Northwest Side.

The accident occurred around 12:30 a.m. on Northwest Loop 410 near Bandera Road.

Investigators said the driver of the car was going too fast when they rear-ended a sport utility vehicle, causing that driver to lose control and hit a retaining wall.

Police said the driver of the car never stopped. Officials eventually found the car about a mile away from the accident on a grassy median but the driver had already fled the scene.
