LEAKEY, Texas – Schools in Leakey Independent School District and Utopia Independent School District will start class later than normal on Monday.
Leakey said they made the decision "out of an over abundance of caution" amid inclement weather.
The school posted on its website that start times at its campuses would be delayed by one hour and buses would start running one hour later.
"The reason for the delay is no one will have to navigate to school in the dark and should be able to see any water or debris in the road," a message on the school's website said.
The Utopia Independent School District also said that schools will be delayed on Monday.
The district's start time will be 10 a.m. with buses running two hours later than normal, the website said.
