The man held him at gunpoint and demanded his car keys, according to officials. The pizza delivery guy called police to report that his car was stolen.
Man hospitalized for serious injuries after Northeast Side carjacking, police say
One man is hospitalized for serious injuries after he was carjacked on the Northeast Side, according to San Antonio police. The incident happened around 10 a.m., Saturday, outside of a motel on Rittiman Road and Goldfield. Police said the victim was approached by a man and woman who beat him up before stealing his Toyota Yaris. The man and woman fled the scene in the vehicle and police are still searching for them. The victim was taken to the Brooke Army Medical Center for treatment of serious injuries.
Carjacking suspect arrested in Kendall County following violent encounters with victims, law enforcement officers
But law enforcement authorities said Jerry Gardner, of Cedar Park, didnโt give up easily. Gardner was involved in a violent series of encounters, beginning at a gas station in Midland, where the carjacking occurred Friday night, the Kerr County Sheriffโs Office said. Gardner then struck a customer who tried to intervene in the carjacking before taking off on Interstate 10. Gardner then ran toward a Kendall County deputy and the suspect was shocked with a Taser, the KCSO said. After a brief struggle, he was arrested and taken to the Kerr County Jail, where he is being held on bonds from six charges totaling $528,500.
