SAN ANTONIO โ Following last weekโs icy conditions and power outages, schools are still announcing changes and closures this week. Great Hearts San Antonio Schools - Classes expected to resume on Monday, Feb. 22. Premier High School San Antonio Windcrest - Classes resuming on Monday, Feb. 22. Schertz-Cibolo-Universal City ISD - All SCUC ISD campuses will be open on Monday, Feb. 22 for both In Person and at-home learning. South San ISD - South San ISD campuses and offices will be closed through Friday.

San Antonio student battling cancer receives special surprise
SAN ANTONIO โ Noah Adams, 17, is battling Ewing Sarcoma, a rare form of bone cancer that affects about 200 children and young adults in the nation each year, according to St. Judeโs Childrenโs Research Hospital. Adamsโ life changed forever three months ago when doctors discovered the cancer after he injured himself while skateboarding. Adams has made the difficult decision to have his leg amputated to give him a better chance at beating cancer. Ma Hilaโs Heart Project, a local nonprofit that helps families battling childhood cancer, was able to grant his wish. Adams and Harper say theyโre grateful for the prayers, meal trains and other community support the past three months.

Central Catholic honors 4-time State Champion boys soccer team
SAN ANTONIO โ The Central Catholic boys soccer team entered the 2019-2020 season with the weight of expectations. After claiming their fourth straight TAPPS Division I State Championship, the Buttons had a chance to give one final bow for their efforts in front of a packed gymnasium full of students, parents and faculty. The seniors on the team have won the state championship all four years of their high school career. โItโs a very exciting moment,โ said senior Christopher Rios-Cruz. โItโs a moment Iโve been looking forward to since I first got here as a freshman, but to be able to do this as a community -- not only with the soccer team, but the whole community of Central Catholic, our faculty and our parents -- itโs just an amazing feeling.
