San Antonioโs 4th of July celebration at Woodlawn Lake Park canceled due to COVID-19
SAN ANTONIO โ The annual Fourth of July Celebration and fireworks show at Woodlawn Lake Park has been canceled this year out of an abundance of caution to help slow the spread of COVID-19, city officials said Tuesday. The celebration is a city of San Antonio-sanctioned event. The actions we take now will ensure that we are all around for holidays and celebrations next year,โ said Mayor Ron Nirenberg. City parks and trails will remain open over the holiday weekend. City officials want to remind residents to practice social distancing when visiting city parks and trails.
11 outdoor pools, 5 splash pads opening ahead of July 4th weekend in San Antonio
SAN ANTONIO โ Despite a pandemic, dips in city pools will continue this summer. San Antonioโs Parks and Recreation Department has announced that 11 outdoor pools and five splash pads are scheduled to reopen on July 3. The pools, including the ones at San Pedro Springs Park and Woodlawn Lake Park, will remain open throughout Aug. 9. The splash pads will stay open through November as usual, the city says.
