Good Samaritan thanked by police after stopping near-deadly stabbing in Kerrville
KERRVILLE, Texas – A Good Samaritan is being recognized by Kerrville police for his heroic actions to stop an almost deadly stabbing that resulted in one hospitalization and one arrest. The incident happened around 8:15 p.m., Friday, Jan. 15, at a Subway restaurant in the 200 block of Sidney Baker South. The altercation soon escalated as the suspect, Patrick Patton, who was armed with a knife, began stabbing the victim, according to officials. Kerrville police issued a statement on the incident, giving thanks to the citizen who stepped in. “The Kerrville Police Department would like to thank the citizen for his heroic actions to stop the assault,” the department said.

San Antonio police arrest 2 after ‘vicious’ assault caught on camera outside strip club
Zachary Wiatrek and Aurelio Elizondo are both charged with aggravated assault causing serious bodily injury. SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police arrested two people accused of “viciously” assaulting a 26-year-old man, which was caught on camera. Police said the victim was assaulted on Jan. 7 in the 9500 block of Perrin Beitel Road outside Capisce Gentleman’s Club. According to their affidavits, the victim went to the club with Wiatrek and Elizondo, who he said are his friends. In the graphic two-minute video, the victim could be seen naked on the ground with only a face mask under his chin.

SAPD: Man reported being pulled from his truck, beaten on city’s North Side
SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police are searching for two people who reportedly pulled a man out of his truck on the city’s North Side and beat him. The man called 911 around 5:30 a.m. Thursday, at first saying he had been the victim of a carjacking. Police said he told them that two men had pulled him from his pickup truck and hit him in the head, possibly taking off in his truck. Officers searched the area and found his pickup two blocks away, still in the parking lot where the attack reportedly happened. Crime scene investigators took fingerprints from the truck and searched it for evidence.

Store clerk punched, ATM broken into at Northeast Side 7-Eleven, police say
SAN ANTONIO – A store clerk was punched and an ATM was broken into at a Northeast Side convenience store early Thursday morning, San Antonio police said. The incident occurred just before 4 a.m. at a 7-Eleven store near Judson Road and Independence Avenue, not far from I-35 and Toepperwein Road. According to police, three men walked into the store just before one of the men punched the store clerk in the eye. That’s when, police said, the men broke open the ATM and fled. Investigators said they initially thought the crime might be connected to another ATM crime, but now they are not sure.

Texas DPS trooper arrested after allegedly sexually assaulting woman he pulled over
KATY, Texas – A state trooper with the Texas Department of Public Safety was arrested after allegedly sexually assaulting a woman while he was on duty Friday night, DPS officials confirm. He’s accused of forcing a woman to perform oral sex on him after a traffic stop, according to multiple reports. He then allegedly placed his hand on his firearm and told the woman to run. Boykin has been employed with the department for approximately four years and was assigned to the Texas Highway Patrol office in Katy. Boykin was arrested Saturday and booked into Harris County Jail where he was later bonded out, KPRC reported.

Teen who says he was kicked by Warren football coach has fractured leg, medical records show
SAN ANTONIO – A Warren High School student who claims the school’s head football coach kicked him in October has a fractured leg that could take up to nine months to heal, according to medical records related to the injury viewed by the KSAT 12 Defenders. Coach Jeff Robbins remains on administrative leave, more than eight weeks after the incident, which occurred during an athletics class on campus in late October. Records: Warren football coach kicked student, could face felony chargeThe student, a 16-year-old member of the Warren football team, was lined up in a formation and did not hear Robbins tell his players to take a knee, according to a source familiar with the investigation. Robbins is then accused of kicking the teen behind his right knee, causing it to buckle, the source said. A source said the teen could be forced to miss up to nine months of competitive athletics.
