During a recent inspection, health inspectors found some pretty disturbing conditions inside a South Side bakery, including bugs crawling on baked goods inside the display cases.

Health inspectors recently told a kitchen at a popular West Side flea market to stop making food at home and get rid of several dead roaches, while two Mexican restaurants had problems with repeat health violations.

Health inspectors told a college campus snack bar operating without a permit to stop selling certain foods immediately, and a Northwest Side seafood restaurant was cited a second time for having an expired permit following recent inspections.

When inspectors visited Real Pho, a Vietnamese restaurant on the Northwest Side, they found all kinds of violations, including five repeats.

Meat thawing in a bucket in a mop sink, roaches in the kitchen, and a restaurant forced to close due to no hot water -- those violations led to some low scores for a trio of restaurants.

A dead mouse, rodent droppings, and a filthy bathroom and kitchen resulted in a low score for a Northwest Side bar, and a pizza chain was ordered to undergo reinspection due to repeat violations.
