The Texas Supreme Court ruled Friday that state funding for Texas schools meets constitutional requirements. “Despite the imperfections of the current school funding regime, it meets minimum constitutional requirements,” the court ruled. || At the Texas Republican Convention here, state delegates met and struck a resolution from being added to the party's platform that endorses the idea of a referendum for Texans to vote to secede from the United States. || A couple has been arrested and charged in the killing of a man whose body was found May 3 under the Guadalupe River bridge in Seguin. Seguin police said Gabriel Perez, 41, and Andrea Middleton, 23, were arrested in Brown County, southeast of Abilene.

THURSDAY

The Spurs season came to an end on Thursday when the Thunder walloped the Silver and Black, 113-99. || Police in Boerne have arrested Katinca Hunter, a woman alleged to have stolen another woman’s medical credentials. || After a string of high-profile child-abuse cases and deaths, a San Antonio doctor who specialized in child-abuse cases said, at times, it is futile to ask why.

WEDNESDAY

Storms rocked south Texas early Wednesday morning, and folks near La Vernia spent the day helping neighbors clean up. || The Bexar County District Attorney's Office said Wednesday that it has determined there to be "insufficient evidence" to support charges in the alleged cyberbullying-related suicide of Alamo Heights teenager David Molak. || A baby found dead in a duffel bag at an East Side recycling plant in 2013 is finally resting under a headstone. Mourners gathered at Chapel Hill Memorial Park to pay their respects to Baby Noel who was buried more than two years ago. His death, however, was not the only tragic circumstance that brought them together.

TUESDAY

Russell Westbrook had 35 points as the Thunder rallied to beat the Spurs 95-91 on Tuesday night and take a 3-2 lead in the Western Conference semifinals. A woman killed Monday in an apparent murder-suicide on Highway 181 was a East Central Independent School District teacher, officials said. Foster parents Bill and Kathy Friend have taken in 31 infants over the past 19 years, born with their mothers’ addictions.

MONDAY

A Mexican federal judge has ruled that reputed drug lord Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman can be extradited to the United States, according to a Monday news release from the Mexican Federal Court. || A San Antonio attorney recorded more than 250 sex videos with women since 2009, prosecutors told a judge Monday. During a bond hearing for Mark Benavides, 46, prosecutors asked that the judge follow the grand jury's recommendation and set bond at $500,000. || A man who confessed to police that he strangled his 2-month-old son has now changed his story. In a jailhouse interview, Arjunkumar Rana said that he confessed to investigators about the slaying because he wanted to die for the death of his son, Alexander.

Blarg, Spurs!! You were so close. That was the collective thought Sunday after the Spurs were defeated by the Oklahoma City Thunder, 111-97. At one point the Spurs had a double-digit lead, but then the fourth quarter came and so too did the Thunder offense. Game 5 will be Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. in San Antonio. On a lighter note, I know I have been saying this since like forever, but we are legit working to give y’all the best Spurs coverage around. Facebook live videos that has reached millions of people before and after each game, check. A one-on-one interview with legendary NBA sideline reporter Craig Sager, check. Fans of the Silver and Black in OKC still showing pride in our hometown team, check.

According to the Bexar County Elections Office, with 557,795 registered voters in Bexar County, just 15,681 voted. That breaks down to 2.81 percent. In the big votes: Castle Hills residents opted to keep VIA bus service, Texas House District 120 is going to a runoff election and voters passed most of the school bonds presented. We love our mothers, and there really should be more than one day to honor them. We took time at KSAT to show some love to our moms. We also sat down with moms, who explained how they make work and family all balance out.

One person is holding a piece of paper worth millions. A winning ticket sold Saturday night in New Jersey for more than $400 million. It's only worth the full $429.6 million if the winner opts for an annuity to be paid over 29 years. For a lump sum payout, the winner will get $284 million, after taxes.
