Report: Military cleanup in Puerto Rico islands slow-going

SAPD: Man walking on West Side street hit by vehicle
SAN ANTONIO โ A man in his 40s walking in the street was hit by a car on the cityโs West Side late Tuesday night, San Antonio police said. The crash happened around 10:20 p.m. at the intersection of Culebra Road and Callaghan Road, not far from Loop 410. According to police, the man was simply walking in the street when he was struck by the small sedan. Police said the driver of the car, a 20-year-old woman, did pull over to stop and help and will not be facing any charges. The San Antonio Police Department, the San Antonio Fire Department and EMS all answered the call.

SAN ANTONIO โ A driver has created a whole lot of trouble for the owner of a far Northwest Side tattoo shop. The shop was closed when it happened shortly before 1 a.m., so there were no injuries. He said he spent the rest of the night inside the shop to protect his unsecured property.

Police said an officer saw a white car traveling westbound on Culebra run a red light and hit a white SUV traveling southbound on Callaghan. The SUV careened, hit a light post and erupted in flames, police said. San Antonio police on Tuesday released footage of the fiery crash.

SAN ANTONIO โ Crossing Culebra Road near I-10 has become a dangerous gamble for Jose Olivera and his wife. According to San Antonio police, a man and woman were killed crossing Culebra near Northwest 19th Street Wednesday night. She said drivers usually donโt slow down, which has caused Culebra Road to become dangerous. The councilwoman has been the lead advocate for Vision Zero since 2015. Gonzales believes Vision Zero should be a priority for the city and its residents so more lives can be saved.
Man grazed by bullet in exchange of gunfire on West Side, police say
SAN ANTONIO San Antonio police are investigating after a man was grazed by bullet in an exchange of gunfire on the citys West Side late Wednesday night. According to police, the victim was the front seat passenger inside a vehicle that was exchanging gunfire with another car. Police said the man was grazed in the head during the shooting. Police did not say if anyone was in custody or if any charges are expected to be filed. SAPD, the San Antonio Fire Department, and EMS all answered the call.
Men with handgun steal beer from West Side convenience store, police say
SAN ANTONIO โ San Antonio police are searching for two men who robbed a West Side convenience store at gunpoint overnight. The robbery occurred just before 2 a.m. at a Circle K convenience store in the 9600 block of Culebra Road. According to police, the two men entered brandishing a handgun and stole beer from the store. The men then fled in a pickup truck. Police did not give a description of the two men.
