Harlanโs season over after playoff game canceled due to COVID-19
SAN ANTONIO โ The Harlan Hawksโ Class 6A Division I high school football first round playoff game scheduled for this Friday at Gustafson Stadium against Laredo United South has been canceled. The Northside School District Athletic Department announced the gameโs cancellation Thursday afternoon on social media. The statement from school district officials said that โmultiple individuals associated with the Harlan High School team have confirmed COVID cases or have been quarantined as a result of potential exposure.โThe decision was made after consultation with San Antonio Metro Health โwith the safety of both teams and schools in mind.โAs a result, the Harlan Hawks football season ends with a 5-4 overall record. Laredo United South will enjoy a bye in the first round of the postseason and will play the winner of Friday Nightโs playoff game between Mission and San Benito.

For rural Texans, the Postal Service is a lifeline, but some say itโs been in decay for years
In rural areas where broadband internet connection is scarce, residents rely on the Postal Service to send checks, pay bills, get Social Security benefits and receive prescription medication. Places that had bad service probably still have bad service.โAcross rural Texas, business owners, community leaders and farmers told The Texas Tribune that the quality of USPS service varies from post office to post office. We have no issues with the Postal Service, they are prompt and they do good service,โ Plagens said. โWe depend on our Postal Service, and we get taken care of by them,โ Roberson said. โThe Postal Service is grossly understaffed, especially in the rural areas that I represent,โ Williams said.
