For the first time since his rookie campaign in 2018, Cowboys guard Connor Williams played in all 16 games of a regular season last year. Now that he has found his footing health-wise, Williams has been asked to take on the role of backup center.

OXNARD, California โ Day 2 in Cowboys camp is the first day of workouts. Right out of the gate, they throw Tony Romo at us at 11:30 a.m. OK, that's the way to kick things off. Romo answers questions from everything about his back to Dez being in camp, revealing they are like brothers. The Cowboys decide to throw Dez Bryant at us. The Cowboys two biggest stars on the same day.

After completing the morning walk-through, I return to my room to find the red light flashing, meaning I have a message. Well, welcome to Cowboys camp. The first order of business is to change so I can do my first sit down interview of camp with Cowboys number one draft pick Byron Jones. After completing the interview with Jones and waiting for the daily Garrett press conference to begin, I run into Brad Sham, "The Voice of the Dallas Cowboys." I ask him how long he has been with the Cowboys and he tells me this is his 37th season and his 36th training camp.

OXNARD, California โ Saturdays are usually a little lighter as far as newscast demands since Larry is in to anchor and we are responsible for Cowboys content, but not the entire broadcast. That gives us a chance to catch up and work on stories for the day, stories for Sunday on Instant Replay and other future broadcasts. Saturday goes well, beginning with our second interview of camp -- Mo Claiborne. Mo has always impressed me with all of his answers, beginning with "Yes sir." No walk through tomorrow, but I received a late-night text from Cowboys PR that Brandon Weeden wants to do his interview at 11:20 a.m. since the players have the morning off.
