San Antonio-based barbecue chain Bill Miller Bar-B-Q plans to build a new headquarters on the West Side with an estimated cost of $60 million, state documents show. The planned campus would house a two-story, 335,000-square-foot building at 5330 State Highway 151, according to architectural records filed with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. RVK Architects Inc., of San Antonio, is listed as the design firm. Bill Miller Bar-B-Q President and CEO Jim Guy Egbert declined to comment on the filing, telling the Business Journal in an email that the company is โnot yet at a point to discuss.โRead more on this story at the San Antonio Business Journal.

These San Antonio businesses received millions of dollars in Paycheck Protection Program loans
SAN ANTONIO The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) has released data regarding businesses that applied for Paycheck Protection Program loans and nearly 3,000 San Antonio businesses appear to have requested funds through the program. The list of organizations that received loans include businesses, nonprofit organizations and educational entities. All PPP loans are subject to SBA review and all loans over $2 million will automatically be reviewed, according to the press release. The Paycheck Protection Program resumed accepting applications Monday at 8 a.m. in response to the Paycheck Protection Program Extension Act. The new deadline to apply for a Paycheck Protection Program loan is August 8, 2020, according to SBA.gov.

SAN ANTONIO On the day that Texas Governor Greg Abbott said restaurants in Texas must reduce capacity from 75% to 50% due to surges in COVID-19 cases across the state, Bill Miller Bar-B-Q has decided to close its dining rooms altogether. Bill Miller Bar-B-Q officials announced Monday that dining rooms at its restaurants are closed. Greg Abbott says bars must close by noon, restaurants to scale back capacityCustomers can go through the drive-thru or order food to be picked up curbside or for delivery. According to its website, The San Antonio-based company presently operates 76 restaurants in the San Antonio, Corpus Christi and Austin areas. Abbotts order was issued Friday as Texas continues to see a spike in COVID-19 casesTexas Department of Health and Human Services reports 66,356 active cases of COVID-19 in the state currently.
