Federal authorities seized hundreds of fake sports championship rings from a memorabilia store in Florida, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) announced Thursday. The law enforcement agency's Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) team found 284 counterfeit "sports championship rings" at "Friendly Confines Collectibles" in Oviedo, Florida, on January 14, ICE said. The rings were replicated as teams from the NFL, NBA and WWE. ICE seized hundreds of counterfeit rings last week. The recent seizure was predicated upon a previous one made in November, when federal agents seized 54 fake NFL and 30 NBA rings that were shipped from China and headed for Friendly Confines Collectibles.

HOUSTON – An immigrant woman who accused guards of sexually assaulting her at a detention center was deported Monday, weeks after she was interviewed by investigators, the woman’s lawyer said. Linda Corchado told the El Paso Times that the woman was deported to Mexico, just under a month after the she underwent a five-hour interview. The woman alleged guards at the El Paso Processing Center forcibly kissed her and targeted her in places where they could not be seen by security cameras. After the Texas Tribune and ProPublica first reported the allegations, the Department of Homeland Security's inspector general opened an investigation into her case and allegations from at least two other people. Corchado said the woman told the inspector general and the FBI about the blind spots that guards allegedly used.

The mother of a 5-year-old Guatemalan boy sued U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement over the medical care he has received in detention for a head injury suffered before the family was arrested. About a month later, he and his family were detained by ICE during what they thought was a routine check-in. The boy, his 1-year-old brother and their mother were taken to ICE's family detention center at Dilley, Texas, while their father was taken to a detention center in California. The boy was not seen at the hospital by a pediatric neurologist, according to medical records obtained by his family's attorneys. Cohen said the boy had an appointment to see a neurologist before the family was detained by ICE.

Democratic leaders and members of pro-immigration organizations gathered in the Rio Grande Valley on Saturday. Democratic members of Congress spoke with Border Patrol agents and still have no clear picture of when the rest of the children will be with their parents. They expressed their feelings after a tour of detention centers earlier in the day. Many of the leaders described the conditions the people inside were staying in as inhumane. As city leaders across the country continue learning details of the issue, they are taking action.
