Motorcyclist returning home, pulling into driveway struck in hit-and-run crash, police say
SAN ANTONIO – A motorcyclist is in the hospital following a hit-and-run crash on the city’s South Side early Monday morning, San Antonio police said. The crash happened around 2:30 a.m. outside a home in the 300 block of Hot Wells Boulevard, not far from South New Braunfels Avenue. According to police, the motorcyclist, a man in his 30s, had returned home and was about to turn into his driveway when he was struck by a vehicle that then fled the scene. Both the San Antonio Police Department and EMS responded to the call. When found, the driver of the vehicle may face a charge of a failing to stop and render aid.

Man killed in hit-and-run on I-35 in New Braunfels, police say
NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas – A man walking on the highway was killed in a hit-in-run crash on Interstate 35 in New Braunfels late Monday night, the New Braunfels Police Department said. The man was also hit by multiple cars in the main lanes of I-35, police said. Investigators say they do not know why the man was walking on the highway, as he was not part of a road construction crew working in the area. Officers closed the northbound lanes of the highway as investigators worked at the scene. The northbound highway eventually reopened around 11 p.m. Monday, police said.

38-year-old man charged in hit-and-run death of 15-year-old girl, police say
SAN ANTONIO – A 38-year-old man has been arrested after he allegedly hit and killed a 15-year-old girl in a hit-and-run crash on Thursday night, San Antonio police said. The crash happened around 8 p.m. in the 6700 block of Medina Base Road, not far from Moon Valley on the city’s West Side. Police say Miguel Barbosa, 38, hit the girl where there was no sidewalk and fled the scene south on Moon Valley. A witness to the crash pulled over and tried to help, but emergency crews eventually pronounced the girl dead at the scene. Barbosa is charged with failure to stop and render aid resulting in death, along with a violation of a bond, police said.

An arrest warrant affidavit says an anonymous tipster identified him as the driver involved in the crash Nov. 19 in the 1200 block of Bandera Road. It says at some point after the crash, the tipster called police offering them Rodriguez’s name. However, it says police do not believe the relative knew anything about the deadly crash. SAPD: Pedestrian hospitalized after hit-and-run on Southwest Side
SAN ANTONIO – A pedestrian was hospitalized after a hit-and-run while trying to cross a street on the city’s Southwest Side, San Antonio police say. The hit-and-run happened near South Zarzamora and Southwest Military on Friday night. Police say the pedestrian was using a crosswalk and a driver in a green Toyota Tundra traveling down Zarzamora hit them and kept going. SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police are searching for the driver of a stolen truck who fled the scene after being involved in two wrecks. Officers said the driver of the truck crashed into a concrete wall outside a home near the intersection of Benrus Boulevard and Rita Avenue on the West Side Thursday morning. The driver bailed from the truck and ran from the scene, police said. Just before that accident, around 7:30 a.m., police said the truck hit a car two blocks away, at Benrus and Bartmer Avenue. The driver fled that scene before crashing into the concrete wall, police said.

Suspect arrested in San Marcos fatal hit-and-run, police say
SAN MARCOS – San Marcos police reported Tuesday that they have arrested a suspect in a fatal hit-and-run that happened June 1. SMPD credits the apprehension of Brenda Vasquez Hurtado, 41, to the volume of citizen tips related to the deadly crash. Hurtado surrendered herself to the Hays County Sheriff’s Office Monday after Justice of the Peace Magie Moreno issued an arrest warrant. Hurtado was identified as the driver of a Ford Explorer Sport Trac that struck Dwight Garrett Thomas on Post Road on June 1.
