Do you recognize this person? SAN ANTONIO โ A man stole merchandise from the Macyโs store at North Star Mall, threatened an employee with a cutting instrument, then ran off -- and investigators are still working to identify and arrest him, authorities said Wednesday. The mall robbery took place at 4:15 p.m. Jan. 11 at 7400 San Pedro Ave., in San Antonio. Crime Stoppers may pay up to $5,000 for information leading to an arrest in this case. To be eligible for a reward, tips must be submitted directly to Crime Stoppers.
Pluckers Wing Bar to open third location in San Antonio
SAN ANTONIO โ Editorโs note: This story was published through a partnership between the San Antonio Business Journal and KSAT. Austin-based Pluckers Wing Bar is inching closer to central San Antonio with a planned location near the airport in 2021. Co-founder Sean Greenberg said on Monday that the popular wings chain with flavor favorites like Spicy Lemon Pepper, Jamango Jerk and the garlic-heavy Vampire Killer plans to open a third San Antonio location at 92 NE Interstate 410. The location will take over an old Loganโs Roadhouse just east of North Star Mall and south of the San Antonio International Airport. Restaurant in North Star Mall dinged for moldy celery, jalapeรฑos
SAN ANTONIO โ A restaurant inside North Star Mall was cited by health inspectors last month, after moldy and spoiled celery and jalapeรฑos were discovered inside a walk-in cold storage unit. Bistro Thai, located at 7400 San Pedro Avenue, received a score of 83 and was ordered to go through a reinspection following the Oct. 19 probe. The bistro was also cited for storing raw animal foods above ready-to-eat foods, health records show. Artist who created iconic San Antonio cowboy boots sculpture at North Star Mall dies
AUSTIN โ Bob โDaddy-Oโ Wade, the artist who created the iconic, giant cowboy boots at North Star Mall, died this week at the age of 76, according to media reports. The artist died of heart failure Monday evening at his home in Austin. According to Austin 360, Dan Bullock, an Austin civic engagement leader, posted on social media Tuesday about the loss of his friend. On the way from Washington, D.C. to San Antonio, the boots got stuck under an overpass. From that point on, the truck drivers responsible for moving the boots took back roads all the way to Texas.

18-year-old suspect arrested in North Star Mall stabbings that hospitalized 2 teens
SAN ANTONIO โ A teenager has been arrested after an alleged fight inside North Star Mall led to the stabbings of two teens. Anthony Rodriguez, 18, was arrested after police questioned several witnesses to the Tuesday night incident, according to San Antonio police. The suspect was seen running from the mall with a group of males amid the chaos after the stabbings near Forever 21, according to police. During the fight, a suspect pulled a knife and stabbed two men, ages 17 and 18, police said. After the stabbings, the two groups ran throughout mall property, both inside and outside, SAPD Sgt.
