The Texas Department of Transportation will be fully closing the Loop 1604 eastbound entrance ramp east of Kyle Seale Parkway and the eastbound exit to Babcock Road. This will affect traffic near Brandeis High School and the main UTSA campus.

A driver who police believe was speeding lost control on a curvy section of Babcock Road. The car went airborne and landed in a tree, ejecting three people inside. They were killed. A fourth person was critically injuried.
Fire started in fireplace damages Northwest Side duplex, fire officials say
SAN ANTONIO โ An attempt to stay warm likely caused a fire in a Northwest Side duplex early Thursday morning, San Antonio fire officials said. The fire was called in around 2:30 a.m. at a duplex in the 6700 block of Hickory Springs Drive, not far from Babcock Road and DeZavala Road. Firefighters said a woman inside the home started a fire in the fireplace late Wednesday night and woke to find the house on fire. Firefighters were able to put out the fire and keep the fire from spreading to the other side of the duplex. A damage estimate has not been released.
Woman facing DWI charges after crashing sedan into SUV on Northwest Side, police say

The crash happened around 1:45 a.m. Monday in the 2300 block of Babcock Road, near Wurzbach Road on the Northwest Side. Police said the woman was driving a sedan and struck an SUV, causing it to rollover. SAPD, the San Antonio Fire Department and EMS were on the scene of the crash.

Bexar County ME identifies 29-year-old found dead in Northwest Side home
SAN ANTONIO The Bexar County Medical Examiners Office has identified a 29-year-old found dead on the far Northwest Side of town on Sunday. Officials identified the victim as Gary Alexander Witt. His body was found on the porch of a home on Real Ridge, near Babcock Road and Kyle Seal Parkway, officials say. Six people attending a party at the home were questioned at the scene, officials say. SAPD, Balcones Heights police search for person of interest in stabbing
SAN ANTONIO The San Antonio Police Department and Balcones Heights Police Department are searching for a person of interest in a stabbing early Monday morning. The search is taking place in the 2800 block of Hillcrest Drive, not far from Loop 410 and Babcock Road. According to police, a woman was headed to her apartment with her boyfriend when they were approached by the suspect. Thats when, police say, an argument between the boyfriend and the suspect ensued, with the man being stabbed in both the abdomen and thigh. Authorities early Monday blocked off the entrance and the road leading up to the Trio Apartments on Hillcrest Drive.
She was a special person: Family of crash victim heartbroken over sudden loss
SAN ANTONIO Antonio Ramos and his family have been left heartbroken after a deadly crash off Babcock Road on Thursday. Savannah Ramos, 19, died after a driver crashed head-on into the car she was riding in. San Antonio police said the driver of the other vehicle was trying to kill himself. Savannah had just finished her classes with Health Careers High School and the family had plans to meet for dinner. We know that she was a special person in her time that she was here with us, Ramos said.

SAN ANTONIO A 19-year-old woman is dead, and two others are hospitalized after a near head-on crash in northwest San Antonio, according to San Antonio police. Police and fire crews received a call for a major crash in the 6800 block of Babcock Road on Thursday evening. Police said a 40-year-old woman, a 19-year-old woman, and a 15-year-old girl were in a vehicle traveling eastbound on Babcock Road. The 19-year-old woman died at the scene. BALCONES HEIGHTS โ Neighbors are left devastated after a 76-year-old woman was found beaten to death at the Spanish Keys apartment in the 1150 block of Babcock Road. Balcones Heights Police said they received a call from the victim after an argument with her son, Michael Wayne Curbow, 55. Police are now searching for Curbow after they arrived to the apartment and found his mother dead. Hernandez said he was not close to the victim but would see the mother and son argue often.
