ACS officials are calling the effort “The ACS Lost & Found Pet Network,” a closed Facebook group that reviews digital flyers of pets brought into the municipal shelter and cross-referenced with the pets in the care of ACS staff. Gypsy’s family was able to send the group a message and was reunited with her, marking the group’s first successful reunion. Ad“Gypsy is our first official reunion and we’re thrilled, said Lisa Norwood, ACS’ public relations and outreach manager. Currently, the group has close to 100 members, however, the group is always looking for new partners.

SAN ANTONIO – A 9-month-old Retriever that captured the hearts of many in San Antonio has officially found her forever home, just in time for the holidays. Tammi was adopted Thursday, Dec. 10, according to the San Antonio Humane Society. Veterinarians found 70 shotgun pellets in Tammi’s body and found that she had injuries consistent with being struck by a car. “We’re just so happy she has found a loving family in time for the holidays!” the humane society said in a statement. After a surgery and a month of recovery, the shelter is seeking a forever home for Tammi as the holidays approach. While Tammi is feeling much better, she would need a family that can focus on her rehab, which would include short leash walks and stretches.
