HOUSTON – The owners of a two-and-a-half-year-old French bulldog named Kirby are happy to have their beloved pet back home after he was taken during a violent armed robbery in Houston. As KPRC first reported, the crime occurred around 5:30 p.m. Saturday in a Houston neighborhood near downtown. According to the victim, one of the men was armed with an AR-15, KPRC reported. SAN ANTONIO – One person is in custody after a high-speed chase ended in a three-vehicle crash in Northeast Bexar County Thursday morning. KIRBY, Texas – Five years after his father severely beat him, a Kirby boy has died, and his father now faces a capital murder charge, police say. The 38-year old man was convicted of child abuse in 2019 and sentenced to three years in prison. But he says child abuse happens everywhere and urges parents to seek help or step back if they feel frustrated with their child. KIRBY, Texas – Kirby police are looking for two men they say held up a convenience store on April 3. Police said two armed men entered the S&K Food Mart store and pointed a gun at a clerk at the register, demanding cash. The men fled in a vehicle driven by an unknown individual, police said. KIRBY, Texas – Kirby council members have asked staff to crunch numbers to assess the pros and cons of a boundary expansion in the future. The city, which has a population of about 8,300 people and is two-square miles, says it needs to find more revenue sources. City leaders are asking to see if there is any financial benefits to current residents and to the future of the city if it expands. The city is surrounded by San Antonio and Bexar County. The City of Converse already has a plan that will expand its boundary closer to the City of Kirby by 2033.

SAN ANTONIO – Officials with the Kirby Fire Department are investigating the cause of a blaze that ripped through a converted garage Friday morning. Firefighters were called just before 7 a.m. to a house in the 4800 block of Scott Carpenter Drive, according to an assistant chief with KFD at the scene. At first, firefighters were not sure where the fire was located until they found flames inside a converted garage, officials said. Everyone inside the home was able to exit and no one was injured. Arson investigators were called to the scene to determine the cause of the fire.
