Six Flags announces Holiday in the Park drive-thru experience
SAN ANTONIO – If you’re looking for a safe event to view holiday lights, then Six Flags Fiesta Texas may be a place for you and your family to visit. The company announced Wednesday that guests can enjoy the event that the whole family can enjoy in addition to its Holiday in The Park festivities. Six Flags Fiesta Texas President Jeffery Siebert, said the event allows families to enjoy holiday sights and sounds from the comfort and safety of their own cars. The Holiday in the Park Drive-Thru Experience will take place on 10 select weekday evenings from Nov. 30 though Dec. 17, in addition to the Holiday in the Park operation schedule. SAN ANTONIO – Ghouls and goblins have been replaced with Christmas trees and "massive stacks of presents” at Six Flags Fiesta Texas. Six Flags on Monday announced Fiesta Texas will still host Holiday in the Park this year despite a surge in COVID-19 cases across the U.S., but things may look a little different. Fiesta Texas will have no indoor shows this year, but the park will have outdoor holiday decor, millions of LED lights and socially distanced meets-and-greets with characters. Officials with the amusement park chain say the modified version of Holiday in the Park gives guests an “immersive and thrilling holiday celebration in a safe, outdoor environment.”Holiday in the Park is one of several places in San Antonio to see holiday lights. Along with the lights, Fiesta Texas will have Christmas trees, giant ornaments, “massive stacks of presents” and “larger-than-life toys" for photo opportunities.

Metallica fans to be partially refunded after missing portion of drive-in concert at Fiesta Texas
SAN ANTONIO – The omission of a large chunk of Metallica’s drive-in concert was sad but true for the fans who made their way to Six Flags Fiesta Texas on Saturday night, but the band isn’t leaving them cheated. A spokesperson said fans will receive a $50 refund of their $115-per-vehicle admission. Encore Drive-In announced the concert, which was shot especially for the drive-in series in Northern California and edited for the show, on Aug. 10. Encore Drive-In has not yet released a statement to KSAT.com and has not said why the opening set and first three Metallica songs were missing. The San Antonio Current, which first reported the story, said fans missed about an hour total of the drive-in performances.

The drive-in, located just outside the front gates of Six Flags Fiesta Texas, shared the updated movie lineup via press release. The contactless, drive-in theater allows guests to bring food their own food or order concessions like popcorn, candy and soda from Rooftop Cinema or other on-site food truck partners.
