Americaโs Walking Club national headquarters moves to historic King William neighborhood
SAN ANTONIO โ San Antonio is home to so many organizations and on Tuesday, Southtown welcomed a new national headquarters for Americaโs Walking Club. โIโve walked in all 50 states and 14 countries,โ Carl Cordes, Pacific Regional Director, of Americaโs Walking Club said. โThe fun of exploring new places that you would not find if you went on vacation to San Antonio. Tuesday is a special day for Americaโs Walking Club, and this kicks off a special week that encourages fun, fitness and friendship. If you are interested in checking out the new headquarters, the Americaโs Walking Club is hosting an open house from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 1008 Alamo Street.
Tiki-inspired cocktails at Hot Joy = a flaming experience

Southtown bus converted to library offers social justice collection
SAN ANTONIO โ A colorful and cozy spot of equal economic, political and social rights is now open in Southtown. The San Antonio Mennonite Fellowship has finally opened their new library on wheels, the La Peregrina Social Justice Library. The idea to convert the bus into a library actually came from a client of the coffee shop. โWe already have all of these books to do it.โThe book collection focuses on topics of social and faith justice curated in both English and Spanish. Amor Eterno is a new craft cocktail bar concept opening in San Antonio
SAN ANTONIO โ San Antonio is getting a new craft cocktail bar concept in Southtown called Amor Eterno. The menu for Amor Eterno is inspired by โTejano street fare,โ according to a spokesperson. Menu items, developed in partnership with popular pop-up concept ยกBucho!, will include things like ceviche wonton tacos, hot chicken tacos, Tejano Cubano, Olโ Fashion donut and more. SAN ANTONIO โ Tis the season for giving back and at this southtown church parking lot, two trailers are doing just that. โI thought would if we could have refugees that are our staff.โBest-Richmond is a pastor at the San Antonio Mennonite Church in southtown. โAll of our space and our money is something we can give back to the community," Best-Richmond said. The employees are all family members seeking asylum while staying at the Mennonite Church. โWe are just really hoping that this will be kind of a cultural center for the whole community," Best-Richmond said.

SAN ANTONIO โ Diversity is brewing in San Antonioโs newest coffee spot in Southtown. The bakery and coffee trailer is run by the pastor of the church, Katie Best-Richmond, who said its to help families in San Antonio seeking asylum. The coffee shop is run by volunteers and asylum seekers themselves. Cafรฉ Cotidiano in Southtown hopes to help families seeking asylum through coffee. โWhatever money we need to live and be active members of the community, thatโs also what (asylum seekers) need,โ Best-Richmond said.
