Mrs. Dixon comes from Davis Middle School, located across the street from Sam Houston high school. Sam Houstons new principal is entering a position that requires acute ability to reach and, furthermore, teach the children in our community and at Sam Houston. The revolving door of administration at Sam Houston high school seems to be consistently turning while our kids are overlooked. It has been 4+ years of different leadership at Sam Houston which is already an underserved school.

FAILED- SAISD SUPERINTENDENT ADMITS HIS 'PLAN' DID NOT WORK
SAISD Superintendent- Pedro Martinez Places Blame on Teachers UnionSuperintendent, Mr. Pedro Martinez, was on the front page last Sunday. It is clear that he's trying to figure out how to change our SAISD schools but spreading the blame around isn't going to work. See internal audit report detailing the waste, fraud and abuse regarding capital improvements in Washoe County here: http://www.washoeschools.net/cms/lib08/NV01912265/Centricity/domain/179/documents/audit%20reports/Audit%20of%20Capital%20Projects%20SIA.pdf. After this report was published in Washoe County, the School Board ignored the data and continued to ask for even further funding, where did the money go- that was every Washoe County Citizen's question. I pray that everyone understands that this is a time of crisis within our SAISD schools, so we must take action today.

saobserver.comSAISD PARENT CORNER- ARE CHOICE SCHOOLS THE RIGHT CHOICE?
The unfortunate news is that as our SAISD children are returning to school theyre faced with retesting for STARR'S and finals as well. Parents, you should know that all of our SAISD high school student's finals count for 15% of their total grade. We must remember that our children need to know that it's a team effort when it comes to their education. ARE CHOICE SCHOOLS THE RIGHT CHOICE? Then when we look at all these Choice Schools that SAISD believes will change some of the most impoverished communities in SAISD is one that I still struggle to understand.
