Rutgers President Jonathan Holloway announced the change Thursday, saying in a statement the university plans to update its immunization requirements for students on campus to include the Covid-19 vaccine. At the moment, the University of Michigan doesn't have plans to require the shots among returning students this fall, she said. Universities require other vaccines for students living on campus, such as meningitis, hepatitis and measles, which could likely extend to Covid-19, experts say.

A man fatally shot at a Northwest Side apartment complex has been identified by the Bexar County Medical Examiner's Office. Darren Wynn Baker, 31, was shot multiple times in the torso at about 8:45 p.m. Saturday in the 2100 block of Bandera Road, San Antonio police said. Police said multiple shell casings were found near the scene, and that projectiles hit several parked cars as well as the apartment building. No witnesses were immediately found, police said, and a suspect had not been identified as of Tuesday evening. Jacob Beltran is a reporter covering San Antonio and Bexar County.

The relative, who owned the pistol, told police that he was cleaning the weapon.Singleton was taken to University Hospital, where he later died.Police told MySA that no charges had been filed as of Monday and that the case is still under investigation.

A 40-year-old man is accused of causing head trauma to his five-month-old after swinging a car seat while the child was unbuckled, according to an arrest affidavit. According to the affidavit, the child's mother was arguing with Terrazas and placed the child's car set on the couch and unbuckled the baby without taking him out. Terrazas then allegedly grabbed the car seat and swung it, causing the baby to fly out and hit the floor face first, the affidavit said. The woman told police Terrazas knew the baby wasn't restrained in the car seat. Instead of checking on the child, Terrazas went into the kitchen grabbed a beer and threaten to kill the woman and her children, the affidavit said.
