According to the sheriffโs office, Love may be in danger and has been without his prescribed medication since his disappearance. CASTROVILLE, Texas โ A Castroville teen has taken what originally started as an interest and turned it into a full-fledged and successful business operation. โI had found some old boxes my grandfather used to keep bees back in the 1980s,โ 16-year-old Trent Anderson, owner of BeeSpace explains. The interest then turned into full-fledged beekeeping, bee removal and a honey business, called BeeSpace. โThere are a lot of foods that rely on bees,โ Trent said. I donโt think everything will come crashing down, but an ecosystem of just monocultures propagated by farmers, thatโs a pretty depressing world.โAdTrent hopes to have 1,000 hives in two years.

MEDINA COUNTY, Texas โ The Texas Attorney Generalโs Office is investigating election complaints involving Medina County Justice of the Peace Judge Tomas โTommyโ Ramirez III and several others, Medina County Sheriff Randy Brown confirmed Saturday. Brown said he was contacted by the AGโs office in case they needed help making arrests on four warrants out of Bandera County. Ramirez and two others turned themselves in to Bandera County authorities, Brown said. A fourth wanted person may be out of town, the sheriff said. Brown said he didnโt have details on the warrants but said that officials with the AGโs office said the investigation involved โelection complaints.โThis is a developing story.

The data analyzed and visualized by KSAT below includes stores in Bexar, Comal, Kendall, Bandera, Medina, Atascosa, Wilson and Guadalupe counties that sold winning Texas Lottery tickets worth $600 or more last year. Records showed that three $5 million scratch-off tickets were sold in the last eight months. In June 2020 alone, NYS Food Mart at 4927 Rigsby Ave. and Roadster #18 at 8630 W. U.S. Highway 90 each sold scratch-off tickets worth that amount. It appears the NYS Food Mart is among the luckier stores in San Antonio, too: the store sold 17 winning scratch-off tickets total last year.

MEDINA COUNTY, Texas โ The body of a 16-year-old shooting victim was found in a field just outside of the Castroville city limits, according to the Medina County Sheriffโs Office. Vehicle rolls over in wrong-way crash on Highway 90, BCSO says
BEXAR COUNTY, Texas โ The Bexar County Sheriffโs Office is investigating a wrong-way head-on vehicle crash late Thursday night. Deputies were called around midnight to Highway 90 near Montgomery Road after receiving word of an accident. Deputies said when they arrived, a vehicle fled the scene and drove nearly to Medina County before finally turning around and driving the wrong-way on the highway. The BCSO said the car then collided head-on with a sedan, causing it to rollover. The sheriffโs office did not say what, if any charges the wrong-way driver is now facing.
Rural school districts face technological challenges in first week back
DEVINE, Texas โ Two rural school districts in Medina County are relieved the first week of school is behind them. The scenario was very different than what they faced towards the end of the school year when they went remote. โYou have trouble with passwords and logging on and getting knocked off internet access during the week,โ Collavo said. The districtโs roughly 1,000 students are all doing remote learning until after Labor Day, when she says about half of the student population has decided they want to do in-person learning. โYou prepare and prepare and prepare and things still donโt go the way you exactly want them to,โ Collavo said.
Woman fatally struck by vehicle during domestic disturbance in Medina County
NATALIA, Texas A Medina County woman is charged with manslaughter after police in Natalia say she hit and killed another woman with her vehicle. Brittnee Jones, 28, was fatally struck around 7 p.m in what police determined to be a domestic disturbance. According to police, officers arrived to find Jones deceased underneath a vehicle. Thats when police said, Rindon hit Jones with her vehicle and then ran over her. Rendon was taken into custody, booked into the Medina County Jail and has been charged with manslaughter.

Rumor-filled letter circulates in Medina County, providing false coronavirus case numbers
MEDINA COUNTY, Texas โ Medina County officials are warning residents of a false document that is circulating with incorrect coronavirus case numbers for the county. The letter also suggests there are road closures, store closures and a shelter in place order in effect. As of Saturday morning, Medina County Judge Chris Schuchart issued a statement, saying there are currently only three coronavirus cases in Medina County. There are also no road closures, store closures or shelter in place in effect as of yet in Medina County. Medina County has first confirmed COVID-19 case after woman tests positive
MEDINA COUNTY, Texas โ Medina County officials are reporting the countyโs first positive case of COVID-19. The patient is a 57-year-old woman who is currently isolated in a Bexar County hospital. Officials said there has been no exposure to local businesses or health care facilities in the county. Health officials said this patient is not counted in the Bexar County cases because she is a resident of Medina County despite the woman being treated in a Bexar County hospital. The disease first appeared in late 2019 in Wuhan, China, but spread around the world in early 2020, causing the World Health Organization to declare a pandemic in March.
Former animal control officer pleads guilty to role in alleged fraudulent insurance claim scheme
SAN ANTONIO โ A former animal control officer admitted his role in a fraudulent insurance claim scheme involving a former police chief and another person, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Western District of Texas. Prosecutors said former Castroville Animal Control Officer Ambrose Rymers pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy. By pleading guilty, Rymers admitted to assisting former Castroville police chief Chris Filline and another person in a fraudulent scheme to collect insurance proceeds, according to the U.S. Attorneyโs Office. Filline electronically submitted an insurance claim to Farmers Insurance Group three days later. The indictment charges Filline and the third individual with one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud, prosecutors said.
