The vehicle drove away and the man was found on the shoulder of the interstate, right at the wall divider, according to officials. City crews clear another downtown homeless camp within the same week
SAN ANTONIO – The City of San Antonio dismantled another downtown homeless camp Friday at Main Street and I-35, just two days after they cleared out a camp at Brooklyn Avenue and I-37. “We’ll leave a camp in place if there’s no health or safety concern. Outreach crews from the city and its partners had been by the camp several times in the previous weeks, Steck said, offering assistance connecting with various services. 18-wheeler carrying load of honeybees flips, causes road closure near downtown
SAN ANTONIO – Millions of bees were killed or dispersed in the downtown area after an 18-wheeler that was hauling them rolled over at the Finesilver Curve near downtown. The truck was believed to be carrying about 400 or more bee hives, each of which can contain 20,000 to 25,000 bees. The rollover was caused by a combination of speed, wind and the driver being unfamiliar with the sharp curve of the ramp coming from I-35 South to I-10 West, San Antonio police said. A San Antonio Fire Department spokesman said crews were unable to check on the driver at first because of the swarms of bees. Carlos Espinosa, the owner of Vespid Pest Control, said he was told the truck had been coming from Florida to California.

SAPD: Driver killed after crashing into back of flatbed tow truck at ‘high rate of speed’
SAN ANTONIO – A man was killed after he crashed his Mercedes-Benz into the back of a flatbed tow truck on the South Side Sunday evening. Police said the driver of the 1999 Mercedes-Benz C230 was driving on the southbound access road “at a high rate of speed” while passing other vehicles. The Mercedes-Benz approached a 2019 Hino 258 flatbed tow truck that was stopped in the same lane and tried to maneuver around it, police said. The corner of the flatbed went through the sedan’s windshield and struck the driver in the head, police said. The tow truck was unoccupied and had its emergency lights on at the time of the incident, police said.

SAN ANTONIO – A woman was hit and killed by a vehicle on Interstate 35 northbound just south of downtown early Monday morning, San Antonio police said. According to police, officers received several calls about a woman acting strangely and sitting in the lanes of traffic. Police said several drivers had to swerve to go around her but that when officers arrived she had already been hit by a truck and killed. Witnesses told police that the truck did not see the woman sitting in the roadway. The woman killed has not been identified.

Man arrested after gun shop, home raided, Homeland Security Investigations officials say
CIBOLO, Texas – Homeland Security Investigations officials say a man is behind bars following two raids on Monday. The raids were conducted at a gun shop on I-35 and FM 3009 and at a home on Penick Way in Cibolo. HSI says the investigation is in connection with wire fraud and firearms. KSAT is working to gather more details and will provide updates as new information becomes available.

SAN ANTONIO – A man walking on the access road of Interstate 35 was hit by a van early Thursday morning, San Antonio police said. The incident happened just before 7 a.m. on the northbound access road near Zarzamora Street on the city’s South Side. According to police, a man wearing dark clothing was struck by a van driven by a 65-year-old woman on her way to work. Police said the woman did not see the man until it was too late. The van scooped the man up and carried him about 50 yards before he rolled off when she hit the brakes, police said.

NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas – An 18-wheeler rollover crash is causing significant delays for drivers, a partial road closure on I-35 and has left one person hospitalized, according to New Braunfels police. The crash happened Saturday morning on I-35, near Highway 46 South. Officials say most of I-35 is now closed in the area. The cab of the 18-wheeler caught fire following the crash, but the fire has since been extinguished. Drivers can expect “significant delays” for the next couple of hours on I-35 in New Braunfels, as officials are still working to clear the scene.
SAPD: Driver arrested for DWI after rolling vehicle over on Northeast side
SAN ANTONIO – A driver was able to walk away with minor injuries after losing control of their vehicle, rolling over and crashing into a guardrail. This all happened early Saturday at around 2:30 on I-35 and O’Connor. The vehicle landed wheels up and sustained major damage. According to police, traffic was not affected by the crash and it was quickly cleared. The drive was given a sobriety test at the scene and was taken in by police for driving while intoxicated.

Although a 51-48 double overtime win over I-35 rivals, Texas State, in their season opener doesn’t hurt, Runners fans were already poised to embrace first year UTSA head coach, Jeff Traylor, in his first game heading the team. Caleb Hopkins, a 2016 UTSA alumnus, said it’s been a few years since there was this much energy surrounding the program. “I’m super excited," said Laura. Fans will get to another chance to see the Runners in action in their home opener Saturday when UTSA hosts Stephen F. Austin at the Alamodome at 2pm.
Man hospitalized after shooting, being involved in multi-vehicle crash, police say
SAN ANTONIO – A man got shot in the leg before trying to make an escape from police and crashing into four vehicles on I-35, according to San Antonio police. The crash happened around 5 p.m., Saturday afternoon on I-35 near Buffalo and West Gerald. Police said the man got into an argument at a car lot before another man shot him in the leg. The victim then got into his vehicle, drove in reverse down an I-35 access road and onto the highway near Southcross. The man was transported to the Brooke Army Medical Center for treatment of injuries.

Driver crosses median on Loop 410 on SW Side, strikes truck head-on
SAN ANTONIO – Two people were hospitalized following a head-on wreck along Loop 410 on the Southwest Side. San Antonio police officers responded to the crash around 8 a.m. Friday on the highway near Interstate 35. Michael Davis said a driver headed eastbound on Loop 410 crossed into the median, broke the barrier and crashed into a truck heading westbound. SAN ANTONIO A 23-year-old driver who died Monday night in a rollover crash on Interstate 35 in Southwest Bexar County has been identified. Jacob Ramos Hernandez, of Somerset, was pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck, which happened just after 11 p.m. Monday on the southbound lanes of I-35 at Luckey Road. According to deputies, Hernandez was traveling southbound on the highway in a four-door sedan and struck a small sport utility vehicle from behind. Deputies said the sedan veered off into the center median, went airborne, and Hernandez was ejected from the sedan onto the main lanes of the highway. Deputies said several other vehicles were involved in the crash, however, there werent any other injuries.
