Danielle and Paul Kinsey are in custody, each facing four counts of endangering four children with horrendous living conditions at an apartment on the Northeast Side, according to the Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar.
Affidavit: Man says he was high on acid when he shot, killed 23-year-old
A Live Oak man said he was high on acid when he shot and killed a 23-year-old man at a Northeast Side apartment, an arrest affidavit said. Imond Martise Woods, 22, was charged with murder in connection with the shooting death of Deshaun Adriel Moorer. On Dec. 27, Live Oak police were called to the Navona at Live Oak apartments, located at 13101 E. Loop 1604, after a witness heard yelling before shots rang out from inside one of the apartments. When the witness went to investigate, Moorer was lying on the floor with a gunshot wound to his chest, the affidavit said. During the interview, Woods admitted to shooting Moorer but said he didn't know how because he was high on acid, the affidavit said.

A man and a woman arrested last week in connection with the death of a roller skater on the Northeast Side are also accused of violently robbing a man two days before, according to an arrest affidavit. When she refused, Salazar said Calvillo shot Barrera in the face. The victim told police that he was walking down the road when Calvillo and Jones robbed him at gunpoint, the affidavit said. Police were able to identify Calvillo and Jones after they used the victim's credit card at a Quick Trip gas station, the affidavit said. Jones was arrested on charges of felon in possession of a firearm and aggravated robbery.

San Antonio police shot and killed a man on the Northeast Side after a shootout with officers Wednesday night, the department said. Police were called to the 12000 block of O'Connor Road around 9 p.m., for reports of a man shooting his gun inside his trailer at the Greentree Village North Trailer Park. When officers arrived, the man, in his 40s, started firing shots out of the trailer through the door and windows, said Chief William McManus. At some point, the man set his trailer on fire before escaping the home and walking around the park continuing to fire shots, McManus said. Along the way, he encountered a group of about six officers before allegedly drawing his gun again.

Salazar said authorities found 66 pounds of meth inside the vehicle. Inside, Salazar said authorities found 172 pounds of meth, 8.9 pounds of black tar heroin and over 1,000 pounds of meth in a liquid form. A BCSO spokesman said the solidified meth and the potential amount that the liquid would have produced totaled $29 million. It's sole purpose was for a drug lab, Salazar said of the home. Salazar said there is evidence to suggest someone was at the home right before the bust, but the person fled.

A man accused of fleeing the scene of a deadly hit-and-run in the Northeast Side has been arrested, according to an arrest affidavit. Christopher Thomas Norton, 35, was charged Tuesday with failure to stop and render aid resulting in death in connection with the fatal accident. According to the affidavit, witnesses said Norton was been driving erratically heading southbound on O'Connor. Investigators also found orange and blue paint under the tape, consistent with the Kawasaki's paint job, the affidavit continued. Norton learned from a Google search that Snow had died from the accident, the affidavit said.

A woman and her dog died Thursday morning after a fire swept through her Northeast Side apartment, the San Antonio Fire Department said. According to Fire Chief Charles Hood, firefighters arrived at the Star Club Apartment Homes in the 8800 block of Starcrest Drive just after 9 a.m. to find a first-floor apartment completely engulfed with flames shooting out of the windows. Hood said firefighters had to break a window in order to to get water inside to cool it down before making entry. Yashika Clark was in her apartment, which sits behind the victim’s, and said her son smelled smoke during his online class. While she didn’t know the woman who died well, Clark said they would always wave and say good morning to each other while walking their dogs.

He then went through a closet and ended in the kitchen. Police did not say what caused the driver to veer into the home.

San Antonio police responded to the 100 block of Ashland Drive around 11:30 p.m. for the altercation. They were told that the two roommates, both men in their 50s, got into an argument that ended with the suspect slashing the other with a machete, police said.

'It's like a third world country around here': Woman describes sewage issues at SA apartment complex
SAN ANTONIO - A tenant at a Northeast Side apartment complex said she's forced to hold her breath as she steps out of the front door. That's because sewage is spilling into the grass and parking lot, and it's been going on for some time. Jessica Burke lives at the Icon Apartments on Patricia Drive, she says she's complained to the management and city. "When you are running an apartment complex you have to be on top of everything, and they are letting it go for so long." She's also upset to see how apathetic neighbors are to the spill, some who are parking right on top of the sewage.
