Woman extracted from vehicle after possible alcohol-related crash, police say
SAN ANTONIO โ A female driver had to be cut from their vehicle following a rollover crash on the cityโs Northwest Side early Wednesday morning, San Antonio police said. The crash occurred around 12:30 p.m. near the Loop 1604 exit to Interstate 10 eastbound. According to police, the woman in her 20s lost control of her car and rolled it off the highway. Firefighters extracted the woman from the vehicle, police said. She was taken to University Hospital in stable condition.

Man, 36, killed after crashing vehicle into ditch near UTSA Boulevard, police say
SAN ANTONIO โ A 36-year-old man was killed after he went across all lanes of an access road off of I-10 and crashed into a ditch, according to San Antonio police. The crash happened Friday night in the 13400 block of I-10, near Casa Bella and UTSA Boulevard. Police said the man exited I-10, went across all lanes of the access road, and crashed into a grass drainage ditch. 18-wheeler carrying load of honeybees flips, causes road closure near downtown
SAN ANTONIO โ Millions of bees were killed or dispersed in the downtown area after an 18-wheeler that was hauling them rolled over at the Finesilver Curve near downtown. The truck was believed to be carrying about 400 or more bee hives, each of which can contain 20,000 to 25,000 bees. The rollover was caused by a combination of speed, wind and the driver being unfamiliar with the sharp curve of the ramp coming from I-35 South to I-10 West, San Antonio police said. A San Antonio Fire Department spokesman said crews were unable to check on the driver at first because of the swarms of bees. Carlos Espinosa, the owner of Vespid Pest Control, said he was told the truck had been coming from Florida to California.
Driver of truck ejected, killed in crash after failing to navigate turn, police say
SAN ANTONIO โ A man in his 40s is dead after he failed to navigate a turn and was ejected during a vehicle crash early Friday morning, San Antonio police said. According to police, the man was ejected from his Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck after driving through a dirt field next to a gas station. The man failed to turn and left the roadway, police said. The truck overturned and he was ejected from the vehicle. The San Antonio Police Department, the San Antonio Fire Department, and EMS all answered the call.

SAN ANTONIO โ One person is dead and four other people are in critical condition after an overnight shooting near the University of Texas at San Antonio, according to San Antonio police. The shooting happened around 2 a.m., Sunday, on the overpass of UTSA Boulevard and I-10. Police say there were two groups of men shooting at each other at the scene. Both were in critical condition, according to police. The other two men were taken to University Hospital in critical condition, police said.
Bexar Countyโs 2nd HOV lane now open
The second-ever HOV lane in Bexar County opened Monday in the westbound lanes of I-10 from La Cantera Parkway to FM 3351 (Ralph Fair Road). Bexar Countyโs only other HOV lane is located in the eastbound lanes of I-10 from Ralph Fair Road to La Cantera Parkway. Officials also said an HOV lane is scheduled to open in 2021 on Highway 281 from Loop 1604 to north of Stone Oak Parkway. HOV lanes are designated lanes along a highway that are reserved for the following vehicles:Vehicles carrying 2 or more peopleBusesMotorcyclesVIA and marked vehiclesTrailer towing is prohibited in HOV lanes. BCSO: Box truck crashes with 18-wheeler; two hospitalized
SAN ANTONIO โ A box truck crashed with an 18-wheeler Thursday afternoon on Interstate 10, leaving two victims hospitalized, according to the Bexar County Sheriffโs Office. According to the sheriffโs office, the two occupants of the box truck were trapped inside of their vehicle following the crash and had to be flown to University Hospital. Itโs unclear if the driver of the 18-wheeler was injured and what led to the crash. All eastbound lanes of I-10 at FM 2538 are still shut down, as of around 6:30 p.m., pending investigation. First-ever HOV lane in Bexar County set to open next week
BEXAR COUNTY, Texas โ San Antonio drivers in high-occupancy vehicles will soon be able to bypass traffic on a section of I-10. The first-ever HOV lane in Bexar County is set to open next week in the eastbound lanes of I-10 from Ralph Fair Road to La Cantera. That HOV lane will be extended by 2023 from north of Stone Oak Parkway to Borgfeld Road, according to TXDOT. All the HOV lanes in Bexar County will be free to use 24 hours a day, seven days a week for permitted vehicles. Pilot program aims to address homeless issues in San Antonio community
SAN ANTONIO โ There are now small signs of progress for a pilot program launched by San Antonio District 1 this summer in the Dellview community at Vance Jackson and I-10 to deal with the homeless population. The pilot program brings San Antonio police, city services, Solid Waste Management and nonprofits to the streets where they work with homeless individuals to guide them toward services. The city is considering expanding similar outreach groups to all San Antonio districts as the Department of Human Services Homeless Street Outreach Team. 11 homeless outreach teams for San Antonio proposed for FY 2021On Thursday, District 8 will host a Homelessness Virtual Town Hall from 5:30 - 7 p.m. The panel will include SAPD SAFFE officers, Haven for Hope and City of San Antonio Department of Human Services.
Medical Examiner identifies man killed in East Side road rage shooting
SAN ANTONIO โ The Bexar County Medical Examinerโs Office has identified the man killed in an East Side road rage shooting late Tuesday night. Jaylin Warren, 22, was fatally shot while riding inside a car just after 11 p.m. in the 4300 block of Interstate 10 East. According to police, Warren and a 25-year-old man were heading near East Commerce Street and East Houston Street when, for some unknown reason, a maroon Impala began firing. Police said the driver of the vehicle was shot in the back and Warren was shot in the back and head, killing him. The driver exited the highway and pulled onto the access road where he called for help.
Eastbound lanes of I-10 near Graytown Road open again after 18-wheeler crash
SAN ANTONIO โ Eastbound lanes of Interstate 10 near Graytown Road have reopened following an 18-wheeler crash early Tuesday morning. Emergency crews responded to the crash around 7:30 a.m. According to SAPD, the eastbound lanes are open, but the westbound lanes of I-10 remain closed as a result of the crash. The San Antonio Fire Department tells KSAT12 that the chemical inside the truck is toulene, a colorless, water-insoluble liquid with a smell associated with paint thinners. At this time, it is not known how the crash occurred.

Deputies say the driver of a Sedan was traveling eastbound, going the wrong way, recklessly, when it hit an 18-wheeler, causing both drivers to be ejected. I-10 eastbound main lanes closed all day Saturday at Boerne Stage Road
The eastbound main lanes of Interstate 10 will be closed at Boerne Stage Road Saturday as Texas Department of Transportation crews work on a bridge expansion project there. The closure will start at 4 a.m. and is expected to be in place until 9 p.m. Drivers on eastbound I-10 will be forced to exit at Ralph Fair Road and continue on the frontage road until the I-10 entrance ramp past Boerne Stage Road. SAN ANTONIO โ A man is in critical condition after being struck by a car while trying to cross Fredericksburg Road, authorities say. Roadwork could affect traffic at The Rim for a month
Visitors at The Rim may find a bigger traffic snarl than usual over the next month. Thatโs because San Antonioโs Transportation & Capital Improvements will be working to replace the street pavers at an intersection within the shopping center. Get latest traffic conditionsThe work will be done on La Cantera Parkway, between the I-10 access road and Vance Jackson Road. Three people seriously hurt after car hits Bexar County deputyโs vehicle
Bexar County โ A man, woman, and child are in critical condition after a suspected drunk driver crashed into a Bexar County Sheriffโs Office deputyโs vehicle, according to Bexar County officials. Around 3:30 a.m. Sunday, the deputy had pulled over to help the three people in the stalled vehicle, when a woman driving eastbound slammed into the deputies car causing it to rollover onto the three victims, according to the Bexar County Sheriffโs Office. The man was taken by helicopter to University Hospital in critical condition. The woman and child were taken by ambulance, also in serious condition. The woman driving the vehicle was also taken to the hospital in serious condition.

Close-call crash in Northeast Side community leads man to call on county, city for help
SAN ANTONIO โ A Bexar County homeowner said heโs been waiting a year for authorities to do something about dangerous vehicle crashes in his neighborhood. Riera said there have been several similar crashes in his neighborhood, and he reached out to the city and Bexar County months back for help. A spokesperson for Bexar County said the county has been made aware of issues along Foster Road and is currently looking at what the problem to develop a solution. The spokesperson for the county said the final solution will have to involve the city, as well. The area is right along the county and city line.
